Help Us Build Free to Wonder
We are hiring our founding teacher.
This is not a position for someone who simply wants to execute a packaged preschool curriculum.
We’re looking for someone who sees learning everywhere.
Someone who can notice the caterpillar.
Who can recognize the fight over the shovel as a teaching opportunity.
Who understands that respecting children’s agency and providing strong adult leadership are not opposites.
Who loves books, nature, questions, play, beauty, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the strange, funny, exhausting, astonishing people that three-, four-, and five-year-olds are becoming.
We care more about finding the right educator than checking a prescribed list of boxes.
Our founding teacher might be:
- An experienced preschool or kindergarten teacher who wants more freedom to teach thoughtfully
- An early-childhood educator
- Someone experienced with Reggio Emilia, Montessori, forest-school, nature-based, or project-based learning
- A teacher returning to the classroom after time away
- A parent who spent years thoughtfully homeschooling their own children and is ready for a new chapter
- A creative, curious person from another field who has an unusual gift for working with young children
We are looking for someone warm and steady, playful and observant, intellectually curious, confident enough to lead, and humble enough to follow a child’s question somewhere unexpected.
Because faith is integral to Free to Wonder, our teacher must be comfortable teaching Come, Follow Me, leading prayer, using scripture, teaching about Jesus Christ, and applying gospel principles naturally throughout the school day.
